Meet Our New Job Developer, David Vicenty!

Thrive DC has the pleasure to announce the newest member of our team David Vicenty! He will be our Job Developer.

This is a new position at Thrive DC, and will focus on creating relationships with businesses so we can better help our clients find good, sustainable, well paying employment.

What made you interested in helping people find jobs?

The satisfaction of helping someone get back on their feet. Since I've through similar situations I can related to some of the clients needs.

What makes Thrive DC different than other homeless programs?

The helping spirit of the staff. Staff is consistently willing to go above and beyond for our clients' welfare.

What is an awesome moment you've had at Thrive DC so far?

One morning I helped a single father to find housing. He was raising a four year old with a disability all by himself.

How does being a Spanish speaker influence your role here?

Spanish speaking clients appreciate speaking their native language. They definitely feel more welcome and appreciated when we aren't struggling to understand each other.

What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about contributing to people's dreams. It's a great feeling to see people happy with their accomplishments.

What's your favorite breakfast food?

Scrambled egg whites with veggies, whole wheat pancakes with peanut butter and honey, and a glass of cold vanilla soy milk mixed with chocolate protein powder. I LOVE IT!

What's a cool and interesting fact about you?

I'm a musician. I play the cello and sing. At one point I competed in bodybuilding. At another point I was homeless and living in my car for about a year, so I really get what our clients our going through.

Help Homeless Individuals Get Back To Work

If you are interested in supporting our employment program, we need your help!

  • Volunteer - Tuesdays and Thursdays we need people to work 1 on 1 with clients in the computer lab building their resumes, looking for jobs online, and walking through employers' application processes.
  • Donate - Our Real Opportunity Job Training Program provides clients a solid path from homelessness to employment and housing. Supporting Thrive DC with $25 a month makes programs like this possible.
