3 in 5 DC individuals experiencing homelessness have been incarcerated.
When men and women reenter society from incarceration, they often hit multiple barriers before successfully securing housing and employment.
Our transitional housing program provides 5 male returning citizens a safe place to live for up to 6 months so they can stabilize their lives and readjust to society.
Right now, there are few places for men coming home to live in the District — the next closest men’s halfway house is in Baltimore. This is an urgent need for returning citizens in our community to have success in their next stage of life and to prevent recidivism.
