Victim Services

Homeless victims have rights. At Thrive DC, we support clients who have been victims of violence by providing resources to improve their quality of life.

Over the past 20 years, over 1,852 reported acts of violence have been committed against homeless individuals in DC.

We recognize that often the first step to stabilization is the ability to feel safe and secure. That's why we provide resources, referrals, and support to victims of crime within 3 months of the event.

Victims of crimes such as assault and battery, property damage, sexual assault, stalking, domestic violence, hate crime, harassment, and theft are able to visit Thrive DC for individualized support and resources.
"Thrive DC has given me hope and the belief that I can go on and keep thriving."

-Kim, Thrive DC Client

42% of unhoused adults cited a history of domestic violence as the primary cause of their homelessness.

We offer RISE (Resilience in Self Expression), a psycho-educational group based on the idea that collaboration and creative expression can facilitate self-empowerment for survivors of domestic abuse.

When clients join RISE, our goals are to empower them on their journey to healing, inform them of their rights, change patterns of behavior learned within abusive relationships, and explore self-expression through art.

Our hope is that clients find healing, transformation, and self-determination so that they can take next steps towards independence and freedom.
