Help The Homeless Get Help

One of the hardest parts about life emergencies is not knowing where to go for help. You can be part of the solution.

How To Interact With Panhandlers

There are 8,000 – 10,000 homeless individuals in DC. You probably pass several on your way to work or at night when you’re walking around. While we encourage you to follow your heart in how you interact with the homeless you meet on the street, we also encourage you to let people know the next place to get more help.

Our business cards and brochures are a great way to offer potential clients a tangible lifeline to a solution. Thrive DC offers comprehensive services, but if we don’t have what a client is looking for we know where they can go to get it.

We’re on the bottom level of St. Stephen’s Church; simply enter through the double red doors attached to the parking lot, come down the stairs, and we’ll be on your left.

Thrive DC Outreach Brochures

If you would like a more comprehensive handout, or would like something you can print out yourself, please offer people you meet our program brochure. It is available in English or Spanish, and lists our programs, services, and schedule for each day of the week.

Let Us Come To You

Part of outreach is not only educating people in need of help, but also educating the people around you on what they can do to help fight homelessness. Thrive DC has a world class outreach team that is available for a presentation at your church or youth group, a “Lunch and Learn” at your work, or community meeting in your neighborhood.

If you and your group want to understand the context of homelessness in DC and practical ways you can make a difference then contact our Community Relations Manager. You can reach him at 202-503-1528 or [email protected]. Let him know you are interested in a community presentation and we will get back to you quickly!
