Each week Thrive DC provides 135 grocery bags for individuals and families in need.
In 2016, Thrive DC provided over 315,000 lbs of critically needed food to hungry families.
Pantry Bags To End Hunger
Emergency groceries are given out Tuesday and Thursday on a first-come-first-served basis.
Clients wait in line outside the Thrive DC program floor before 1:00 PM. At 1:00 PM groceries will be given out on a first come, first served basis until supplies run out.
Good Food. Real Help.
Each bag has enough for for three full meals and is roughly adjusted for family size. Typical products in the bag include: shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, cereal, bread, meat (as available), side dishes, and canned fruits and vegetables.
