Each week Thrive DC provides 135 grocery bags for individuals and families in need. 90 bags are given out as part of our Breakfast Program and 45 bags are given out in our Dinner Program.

In 2016, Thrive DC provided over 315,000 lbs of critically needed food to hungry families.

Pantry Bags To End Hunger

Emergency groceries are given out Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on a first-come-first-served basis.

Clients can sign up to be on the list that day at 11:00 AM in in the morning and 3:30 PM in the evening. Emergency Grocery Bags in the evening are only available to women.

Good Food. Real Help.

Each bag has enough for for three full meals and is roughly adjusted for family size. Typical products in the bag include: shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, cereal, bread, meat (as available), side dishes, and canned fruits and vegetables.
