Donate Coats to the Homeless

As fall creeps on and winter slowly approaches, Thrive DC undertakes one of its most important tasks: Keeping our clients warm for the winter. With frigid temperatures just around the corner, it is imperative that everyone is protected against the cold.

Every winter our homeless clients struggle to stay warm, and the cold weather provides some of the most severe crisis situations they have to endure. Our clients run the risk of frostbite, illness, and hypothermia if they are not provided with proper protection from the weather.

During this time our clients turn to us for warm clothing. This year we give out cold weather materials on the following three days:

Friday, December 2nd, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Friday, January 13th, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Friday, February 3rd, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

To make sure we are properly prepared we need your donations the Monday before we give things out, starting on the 28th of November.

If you would like to host a Coat Drive for our homeless clients, please contact our In-Kind Coordinator at (202) 503-1533 or [email protected]

Dropping Off Donations

Unfortunately, we are not able to pick up donations. But you can bring things to us at our location in Columbia Heights Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Before you come, please let our staff listed below know to expect you! If you are unable to get to us during normal operating hours, we would be happy to talk about setting up a more convenient time for drop offs.
