COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunities
Due to the ongoing pandemic, our normal operations and volunteer opportunities have been severely disrupted. While we still need your help, our needs are different during this time of alternative services.
Thrive DC is open Tuesday – Thursday. We have no regular volunteer opportunities on weekends.
Tuesday & Wednesday
On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, volunteers are needed to unload food off the trucks from Capital Area Food Bank. Volunteers are also needed to help bag supplies, sort mail, and assist with general office tasks.
Wednesday afternoons, volunteers will begin by putting together hygiene bags and end by helping with administrative tasks.
1-4 volunteers are needed on Tuesdays between 11 AM & 3 PM and Wednesdays from 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 4 PM
On Thursdays, volunteers will help distribute bagged meals to clients who are coming in based on an appointment they made ahead of time (we have been giving away between 250-400 bags of food per week!) and helping to organize and distribute mail for clients who have mail sent to us.
1-4 volunteers are needed on Thursdays between 9:30 AM & 2 PM
